Wildflower Magic
Each year as the winter starts to fade I begin the hunt for wildflowers. Following the micro-climates in the Bay Area, the search begins in the coastal hills of Marin and San Mateo, and gradually moves East as the temperatures grow warmer.
2022 has been a wonderful year for wildflowers, despite the drought. Hiking in early Spring from the Marin Headlands to Pt. Reyes to the San Mateo hills and around my own East Bay neighborhood turned up beautiful plants, nearly all California natives.
